We started off the week a little behind since Tiffany went on a Young life camp and could not hang out. We caught up by face timing to learn the words and how to pronounce them and using the Quizlet we made to study. We plan to hang out this weekend to go over past words and learn new words from Aimee's parents. This week words are for when we are going to learn the food culture and we can talk to her mom in the kitchen and have her perfect our pronunciation. This will be a good study tactic to remember how and when to use the words. Over the weekend we also plan to learn some new Polish culture like learning the recipes and how to prepare the Polish food. You can see the words we have learned this past week in the Quizlet link below. Tune in for next weeks blog to see what recipes and words we learn!

This was our first week of Genius Hour and we have already started learning our new words. We were together on Saturday and we were taught by Aimee's dad. For the first week we started out with simple words like "how are you" (jak się masz) and "good" (dobrze). At first we had some troubles with remembering and pronouncing the words. Eventually we got the hang of it using the study technique of waiting about 10 minutes then asking what the meanings of the words are or how the words are pronounced.
Tiffany will be going on a trip with Young Life and will not have any way to contact Aimee for 2 days so this could push back our schedule a bit. The way we plan to catch up is learning a couple extra words each night for the rest of the week by face timing and using Duolingo or Quizlet. Stay tuned to see some of the words we will learn next week. |
