This week we decided to take the week off for Thanksgiving. We were able to look back at the past words and use them in the kitchen. This helped with our pronunciations because Aimee's family corrected us when we needed it. We were able to experience the real Polish traditions and language of cooking. Aimee and I hung out on Thanksgiving and agreed on switching subjects of the words. We decided to focus on a similar subject like shapes and colors. We think this can be helpful with describing objects and places. Tune into next week to see what types of colors and shapes we learn!!

This week Aimee and I decided we would learn kitchen supply words to go along with the food words. Since we cooked a couple weeks ago and we would like to soon again and because Thanksgiving is coming up we decided that these terms would be the most useful. Aimees Parents will talk alot in Polish since it is their first language while they are cooking so it would be cool if I could understand or speak and Aimee be able to actually talk and ask for these supplies. Some of the easy ways we learned these words is with "pan" we saw it had the same first and second letter p and a. We also decided we would do easier to pronounce words like "noz" it is pronounced noosh. That word is pretty fun to say so I automatically know it is knife. We are finally putting all the simpile kitchen and food words together and we might be able to use them in actual situations very soon. Thank you for tuning in to this weeks blog, make sure you read next weeks an check out the quizlet below!!
This week me and Aimee decided we would learn some words that would be useful in the kitchen since Thanksgiving is coming up and we are learning about the Polish foods. We choose to stick to simple words that we could catch on too, like "water" is "woda". We think this word is easy since it kind of sounds like water and looks like soda. Another word that is pretty easy to catch on to is "soup". The Polish word for this is "zupa", it is easy to pick up this word because it is fun to say and easy to pronounce. Over the past week me and Aimee have learned that the words that are easier to pronounce are easier to learn. We have also discovered that the words that look similar to the English version are easier than the ones that look completely different because our brains have learned growing up what these words look like. This method is kind of similar to scrambled word games where it is easy for us to unscramble them. The quizlet link is below to see all the words we learned this week. Tune in for next week too see what words we learn next and what foods we make using these resourceful words!
Me and Aimee hung out this weekend and it was her nieces birthday. That meant that most of her family was at the house. We got to sing the "Happy Birthday" song in polish. This was pretty simple for the both of us since we do it every year for all the birthdays we are together, even though we already know the song it is still pretty cool to know that part of the Polish culture. We decided not to do vocabulary this week since we had a lot going on, but we decided we will review words and pronunciations. We also concluded to resume the vocabulary next week. If we have time after learning the words we will make another polish food and share it on the blog. Tune in next week to see the new words and culture we learn!! If you have any questions ask them in the question tab.
